Self-Hosted Architecture
Bienvue can run on your own hardware for a single property with up to five screens. A lightweight local server distributes your guide to your displays from a single, portable JSON specification you control.
A declarative, single-file guidebook
During initial configuration, the server prompts you for core property details: Wi-Fi credentials, check-out procedures, house policies, and local highlights. Your responses generate a clean JSON specification that serves as the single source of truth for your displays.
There is no proprietary editor required. Modify your configuration in any text editor, automated script, or custom deployment pipeline, and your connected screens update automatically.
Bienvue Community License
The self-hosted edition is licensed under the Bienvue Community License, a source-available license designed for independent operators, self-hosters, and technical teams. It is free for personal and internal business use on a single property with up to five screens.
Fair use and platform integrity
The community license grants you the freedom to inspect source code, adapt your deployment, and power in-room screens without recurring cloud fees. It also protects the ecosystem by prohibiting third parties from providing commercial hosting, operating competing services, or redistributing Bienvue commercially.
One property, up to five screens
The self-hosted license accommodates a single property and up to five connected displays. For multi-property portfolios, boutique hotels, or fleet-wide device orchestration, the managed cloud service provides full provisioning and centralized management.
Local-first offline resilience
Screens cache your complete guidebook locally. Network dropouts or ISP interruptions never disrupt in-room guest guidance.
Getting started
Source repositories, documentation, and container deployment instructions are available on GitHub at github.com/bienvue.
Managed cloud alternative
If you prefer zero infrastructure maintenance, you can create a managed account instead. You gain visual content editing, remote smartphone management, and turnkey reliability without hosting a server.
